How much does it cost to Tryout?

$25.00 online or $35.00 as a walk-in.

 

 

 

Do I need to bring my players birth certificate?

Yes, this is a USYSA Rule (Rule 204. PROOF OF AGE). 

New Players to the Select Program must bring an original copy of their birth certificate to the first day of tryouts. This is to validate proof of age. 

Effective 6/3/24 storage of sensitive data, such as Birth Certificates will be automatically removed from our system if provided longer than 180 days ago.

This change was not a decision made by MFC, but instead by the operating system to safeguard and enhance security. 

 

What should I bring to tryouts?                                                             

Players should arrive15 minutes in advance with proper attire, including soccer cleats, shin guards, and plenty of water.

Does my player have to attend every night of tryouts?                                                 

It is strongly encouraged, but players are sometimes unable to avoid missing. All players missing a night must notify the Club President beforehand.

What age group is my player?                                                         

The Academy and Select Programs are governed by US Soccer's age group classification. Age groups are determined by birth year.  Your "U" age group is determined by a simple formula:

Year Season Ends – Birth Year = Age Group

For Example: 2025-26 (Season) – 2011 (Birth Year) = U15 (Age Group)

Can my player play up an age group?

There are cases where players may either play/tryout for an older age group.

 

What if my player wants to play high school soccer?

MFC encourages our players to play for their respective high school teams. For high school players, our club soccer season runs opposite of the WIAA high school season.

Boys will play high school soccer in the fall, and MFC Select soccer in the spring.

Girls will play MFC Select soccer in the fall, and WIAA high school soccer in the spring.
                        
High school boys and girls MUST tryout in June to be considered for a Select team.

U11 - U15   (Birth Year: 2011-2015)

  • Tryout Fee
    • $25.00 online or $35.00 walk-in 
      • These fees are non-refundable and do not apply to the per player fees as stated above.
  • Program Registration:
    • $550 per player which includes: 
      • Fall Season (8-10 games)
      • Winter Indoor League
      • Spring Season (8-10 games)
      • All Referee, League and WYSA/ECSL fees
      • At least one tournament per season
      • LUFC soccer ball
      • Two practices per week (Fall & Spring seasons)
      • Assigned WYSA Licensed Coach
  • Uniform Kit:
    • $125-$150 One-Time Uniform Kit Fee which includes:
      • Brand-Name Home and Away Jerseys, Shorts and Socks
        • There are no refunds.
    • Uniform Kit - What to expect:
      • Players will have opportunity to select the number of their choice, (first come, first serve) which will be organized shortly after the team roster has been completed. 
      • Once your number has been selected, MFC will provide to Soccer.com to develop your personalized uniform kit.
      • Soccer.com will send an email directly to you/registration contact to complete uniform kit process. 
  • Travel & Team Expectations:
    • Travel to and from games estimated up to 1-hour 
      • Games are balanced with half being Home and half being Away.
    • Practices are mandatory, your coach will work with you as needed.

U16 - U19 (High School)  - (Birth Years: 2007-2010)

  • Tryout Fee: 
    • $25.00 online or $35.00 walk-in 
      • These fees are non-refundable and do not apply to the per player fees as stated below.
  • Program Registration:
    • $375 per player which includes:
      • Season opposite of the player's high school  
        • Fall - 8 to 10 games (HS Girls only)
        • Spring - 8 to 10 games (HS Boys only)
      • Winter indoor league
      • All Referee, League and WYSA/ECSL fees
      • One tournament Minumum per season
      • LUFC soccer ball
      • Two practices per week (Fall & Spring seasons)
